Today (3/1) we visited the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, located in the heart of Boston, MA. Students enjoyed the opportunity to view a private collection of artwork assembled by a woman in 1850 - 1890. Her home, now a museum, offers a glimpse into another world art and architecture. The collection of artwork is immense and diverse. Student blog entry #1 (Lauren T): Today we went to the Isabelle Gardner Museum. I learned that Mrs. Gardner once lived in the home before it was converted into a museum. I particularly liked the central garden area because it was filled with lots of plants and beautiful statues. Student blog entry #2 (Cameron T.): Yesterday we went to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. There we saw many old rooms, sculptures, furniture, and paintings. All of it looked like it came out of a castle. I particularly liked the giant dining hall. What was interesting was the part where I heard that someone stole a bunch of paintings back in 1991.
